Common questions
Does swiping delete a screenshot?
No. Swiping left marks it and puts it in the bin. Nothing is deleted until you open the bin, tap Delete and confirm in the iOS dialog.
I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. Open Photos, go to Albums › Recently Deleted, and recover it there.
How do I put a screenshot back from the bin?
Open the bin and tap the screenshot. It goes back to your library as if you’d never swiped it.
Why don’t some screenshots show up?
By default, Sweep leaves out Favorites and screenshots you’ve added to an album. You can change both in Settings. Screenshots you’ve kept won’t come back either. To see them again, go to Settings › Kept screenshots, where you can re-review them or turn off “Remember what I keep”.
How does Sweep find near-duplicates?
It compares screenshots taken within a few minutes of each other, using Apple’s Vision framework on your iPhone. Each group suggests keeping the newest. You can change the pick, keep more than one, or keep them all.
Why does Sweep need access to my photos?
To find your screenshots and show them to you. Everything happens on your iPhone, and nothing is uploaded. If you’d rather, choose “Limit Access” and pick the screenshots Sweep can see. You can change this at any time in the Settings app, under Apps › Sweep › Photos.
Is there a subscription or anything to unlock?
No. You pay once, and that’s everything. There are no ads, no account and nothing to restore.
My screenshots look blank for a moment
If you use iCloud Photos with “Optimize iPhone Storage”, older screenshots may need to download from iCloud first. Give them a second, or connect to Wi-Fi.
