Payday Away: The Countdown App

Privacy Policy

Payday Away: The Countdown App · Effective October 9, 2026

The short version: Payday Away doesn’t collect any data. What you tell it stays on your iPhone. There’s no bank login, no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don’t run a server for it to talk to.

What you tell Payday Away

To count down to your next payday, Payday Away uses what you enter:

  • your pay schedule, and how you want weekends and holidays handled
  • your take-home pay, if you choose to add it
  • how your widgets look: their looks, colors, labels and saved looks
  • your alert settings

It never asks for your bank details or connects to your bank.

Photos

If you choose a photo for a background, you pick it in Apple’s photo picker. Payday Away receives only the photo you pick, never the rest of your library, and it doesn’t ask for access to your photos.

It keeps a resized copy of that photo on your iPhone, so your widgets can show it. When no look uses the photo anymore, the copy is deleted.

What Payday Away stores

Payday Away keeps what you’ve told it, and the copies of any photos you picked, in its own storage on your iPhone. Its widgets read from the same storage.

Like any app’s data, this can be included in your iPhone’s backups, depending on your iOS settings. Deleting Payday Away deletes it.

Alerts

If you turn on alerts for the night before or the morning of payday, Payday Away schedules them on your iPhone. They never pass through us.

What Payday Away sends

Nothing. Payday Away makes no network connections of its own. We never receive your schedule, your pay, your photos, or anything about how you use the app.

Sharing

On payday, “Share the good news” opens the iOS share sheet with a short message. It goes only where you choose to send it.

Purchases

Apple handles payment. We don’t receive your name, email address or payment details.

Children

Payday Away collects no data from anyone, including children.

Third parties

Payday Away contains no third-party code for analytics, advertising or crash reporting, and it shares nothing with anyone.

Support messages

If you contact us through the support form, we receive what you write and the email address you give us. We use them only to reply to you. We never add you to a mailing list, and we never share your message.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
